150 Joint Personnel Deployed to Clean Up Krukut River

It will be ongoing for three days, from September 30 to October 2

As many as 150 joint personnel serving under the South Jakarta administration are seen working together on Thursday (9/30) to remove clear the Kali Krukut River of trash, Jalan Gatot Subroto until Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in anticipation of floods during the rainy season.

South Jakarta Secretary, Munjirin said, those 150 joint personnel were from Water Resources (SDA), Environment Sub-agency, Bina Marga Sub-agency, Parks and Urban Forest Sub-agency, Transportation Sub-agency, Water Agency UPK for Environment Agency, and PPSU.

"It will be ongoing for three days, from September 30 to October 2," he expressed. 

According to him, they were instructed to dredge up mud, to widen the river on the right and left. It was carried out up to 1.2 kilometers long. 

"By doing so, the river is expected to accommodate water in large quantities thus it can minimize the impact of flooding," he hoped.

South Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Mustajab explained, it was divided into three segments. The first segment was from Gatot Subroto Bridge to Jalan Karet Sawah 2.

Then the second segment was from Jalan Karet Sawah 2 to Jalan Karet Sawah and the third segment was from the entrance of the AIA building to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.

To maximize it, more than 50 personnel plus 10 heavy equipment, starting from seven units of AK, one unit of XM, two units of long arm and 30 dump trucks had been alerted at the location

"The dredging is carried out to one meter deep and is estimated to pick up mud around 5,338 cubic meters," he said.
